Pro Thread Repair · Aluminum Blocks
Same Repair.
Half The Price.
A complete thread-repair kit for stripped spark-plug, head-bolt and drain-plug threads in aluminum engine blocks. The dealer kits cost $500–$600. Ours does the same job for around $250–$300 — no dealer markup.
One stripped thread can scrap a $5,000 block.
Aluminum threads strip easily — overtorqued spark plugs, seized head bolts, a drain plug cranked one turn too far. Suddenly a perfectly good engine block is at risk, and the “official” repair kit costs more than a weekend's work.
Drill, tap, insert. Stronger than stock.
Our kit walks you through a permanent insert repair the way pro shops do it. The depth-stopped drill bit means you physically can't over-drill, and the hardened sleeve leaves the hole stronger than the original aluminum.
What's In The Box
Everything you need. Nothing you don't.
Open the kit and you're ready to repair — no scrounging for the right tap or a drill bit you have to babysit.
Correct-Size Tap
Matched to the repair so the new threads cut clean and true the first time.
Depth-Stopped Drill Bit
Pre-set collar physically stops the bit — you can't drill too deep and blow through the block.
Hardened Thread Sleeves
The actual repair pieces. Steel inserts that leave the hole stronger than the original aluminum.
Insert Installation Tool
Drives and seats the sleeve to the right depth without cross-threading or damage.
Roadmap: thread locker + a blow-molded carrying case (not in the current MVP kit).
The Repair
Three steps to torque-ready threads
No specialist tooling, no machine shop. If you can run a drill and a tap, you can do this.
Drill
Remove the damaged threads with the supplied drill bit. The pre-set depth stop bottoms out before you can go too deep — no measuring, no guesswork, no scrapped block.
Tap
Cut fresh, oversized threads with the correct-size tap. Go slow, back off to clear chips, and keep it square. Clean the hole when you're done.
Insert
Thread a hardened sleeve onto the install tool and drive it to depth. The insert locks in, leaving a clean, torque-ready thread that's stronger than the original aluminum.
The Math
Why pay double?
Same capability, same permanent repair — without the dealer-channel markup.

Half the Price
Dealer-specific kits run $500–$600. Ours delivers the same repair for around $250–$300 — no dealer markup.
Blocks Ruined
The depth stop removes the one mistake that scraps a $5,000 casting: drilling too far.
Permanent Fix
A hardened sleeve restores torque-ready threads for good — not a temporary patch.
Fix the thread. Save the block. Keep the $250.
